Carmichael Mediation Services has over 100 years’ collective experience of workplace investigations and mediation in employment and other contexts. This diversity enables us to provide a prompt and comprehensive service.

Founder & Director

Brian is an accredited Employee Mediator and HR professional with expertise in Employee Relations. With 30 years of experience as a police officer, he excels in identifying and resolving employee issues through ethical and thorough investigations.

Brian reviews processes and organisational structures to uncover factors affecting performance. He is skilled in managing cases related to investigations, disciplinary actions, absenteeism, capability issues, and grievances. Additionally, he coaches managers on disciplinary procedures. Brian has extensive experience providing professional evidence in criminal courts, employment tribunals, and formal hearings, and advises managers during formal hearings.

Marie is a skilled investigator and HR practitioner with expertise in employment investigations, statutory reviews, and safeguarding. With 32 years as a police officer, she handled criminal cases involving sexual offences, domestic abuse, child and vulnerable adult abuse.

Marie uses these skills in workplace investigations, focusing on discrimination, harassment, disciplinary issues, absenteeism, performance problems, and grievances. She is qualified in Further Education teaching and has worked with trade unions and various sectors on high-profile cases. Marie excels in evidence gathering, conducting interviews, and producing reports, and has extensive experience giving evidence in courts, hearings, and tribunals. She also reviews workplace processes to identify and resolve issues.
